Phragmite Death
Gerritsen residents have been alerted – with short notice – that White Island is scheduled to be sprayed with weed-killers in mid-October to kill the phragmites. The material used will be the same as was used previously, with the same precautions and restrictions regarding wind speed and rain as required by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
